Dawn M. Coulson

Dawn M. Coulson is the managing partner of Epps & Coulson, LLP. Prior to being admitted to practice in California, Colorado, New York, Texas and Oregon, Ms. Coulson owned an import/export business for both Japanese and American trading companies. Ms. Coulson also holds a California Real Estate/Broker license. Ms. Coulson practices in State and Federal Court and in 2010 she was admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Gabriel M. Courey

Jeffrey A. Cohen

Jeffrey Cohen serves of counsel for Epps & Coulson, LLP and is admitted to practice in California in both State and Federal Courts. Mr. Cohen’s focus is primarily in commercial and business litigation, employment law, healthcare litigation and real estate litigation. Mr. Cohen has worked for the Tax Division of the United States Department of Justice in Washington, DC. and is also experienced in FINRA and securities litigation.

Malika P. Ewart

Malika Ewart’s practice includes complex business litigation, arbitration and mediation, employment, entertainment, intellectual property and business immigration. Ms. Ewart provides representation for an array of national and international corporate and individual clients in their day-to-day transactional and litigation needs. Ms. Ewart is admitted to the California Bar and maintains licensure with the California Department of Real Estate, and the California Department of Industrial Relations as an Entertainment Agent.

Lynnette (Lynn) Vavrek

Lynnette (Lynn) Vavrek joined Epps & Coulson, LLP as an office administrator after spending more than 40-years as a CPA in Southern California. Ms. Vavrek brings expertise in business and legal systems software and her primary role at Epps & Coulson is to ensure that all administrative functions are met to secure efficiency and compliance to company procedures and policies. Ms. Vavrek excels at her interpersonal communications with the firm’s staff and its clients.

Theresa Dolce

Theresa Dolce joined Epps & Coulson, LLP after 30 years of legal experience in the bail bond industry. Her experience has included criminal, federal and immigrations investigations and legal, which provided a broad background in real estate, administration law, contract and civil court and bankruptcy. Ms. Dolce holds a Bail Agents License, Fire, Property and Casualty Broker/Agent License and a Notary Public Commission. She supports the firm with client relations and other administrative matters.

Micheal (Blake) Kollman

Micheal (Blake) attended the University of Texas, double majoring in Political Science and History. He graduated with a Bachelor’s achieving both Cum Laude status and the Dean’s List several times. Blake is also a licensed Notary.

Deborah Nicholson

Deborah is a seasoned legal professional with 40+ years of experience, adept at managing complex litigation cases from intake to trial, including comprehensive legal research, meticulous document drafting, effective client communication, and seamless case file management. She has extensive experience managing all aspects of litigation including discovery, witness preparation, trial preparation, and court filings in State and Federal Courts.

Paul Diouf

Paul Diouf helps businesses in Corporate Law, Mergers & Acquisitions, Real Estate Transactions and Litigation. Paul advises clients in a variety of industries, including public and private companies, startups, healthcare professionals, and real estate professionals. Before joining Epps & Coulson LLP, Paul practiced law with leading firms (Dentons Europe AARPI, Gowling WLG, Clifford Chance LLP) in Paris, advising clients on corporate real estate and investment transactions, including mergers and acquisitions throughout France and Europe. Mr. Diouf earned a Master’s Degree in International Business and Economic Law from the University of Southern California (USC), further strengthening his expertise in international legal matters. Mr. Diouf is licensed to practice law in Paris (admitted in 2020) and California (admitted in 2024).

Maya Martinez

Maya has a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from California State University, Long Beach. Before working in law, Maya did research in the biomedical engineering field. Her research is published in the Journal of Experimental Biology and American Society of Mechanical Engineers. She also spent years in the non-profit sector giving back to the community by affiliating with organizations such as Mother Theresa’s Missionaries of Charities. Maya earned her paralegal certificate in 2024 from the ABA approved Paralegal Program at Cerritos College. She enjoys her work here at Epps & Coulson, LLP preparing for trial, doing judgment collections, and making sure the attorneys have what they need to do their very best.
